The 20th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2025 will take place from November 3 to November 27. The host for this tournament will be Qatar. On April 12th, Egypt was the last team to qualify for the tournament. With the expansion of the number of teams to 48, a new format is on its way. Nigeria is the 5-time record holder of the tournament. Next to them is Brazil, winning it 4 times. Germany is the defending champion, winning it for the first time ever. Especially players such as Luis Figo, Andrés Iniesta, Neymar, Xavi, Francesco Totti, Ronaldinho, and, most recently, Phil Foden have all played in the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

We have all 48 teams that will feature in the tournament later this year. Confederation by Confederation, let us have a look at the teams qualified :

Host Country
Especially after a successful FIFA Men’s World Cup 2022, Qatar is set to host another FIFA competition. Instead, this time it will be a FIFA U-17 World Cup. A 24-day tournament in November will give youngsters the opportunity to showcase their gameplay and represent their country.
New Format
With the increase in the number of teams, the format has also eventually changed. Forty-eight teams will be divided into 12 groups. The top 2 teams from each group will qualify, and the best eight teams finishing in third place will also go through. If the points of the third-place teams are tied, then goal difference will be considered.
Earlier, we used to have an extra 20 minutes if the knockout games were tied, but this time around, the matches will directly go into a penalty shootout.
