Journey from F3 Champion to F1 Contender
Piastri started working his way up the junior formulae in 2016. Oscar won his first championship with R-ace GP in the 2019 Formula Renault Eurocup. He then went on to win the FIA Formula 3 and FIA Formula 2 titles back-to-back in 2020 and 2021, respectively, with Prema, becoming just the sixth driver to win the Formula 2 title in their rookie season. Piastri is the only driver to win Formula Renault, Formula Three, and Formula Two—or their equivalent—championships all in successive seasons.
