The conclusion of the F1 season decides two champions. The driver with the highest points in the end wins and becomes the Drivers’ Champion. A driver’s capability is of utmost importance, but the construction of their car is one of its most essential components. Therefore, a constructor brand, based on the points factors, wins the Constructors’ Champion.

The defending driver and constructor champions for the 2025 F1 season are Max Verstappen and McLaren-Mercedes, respectively. Max Verstappen was the winner from 2021 to 2024, consecutively.

Rules

In the F1 2025 season, the previous rules have been either removed or slightly adjusted due to various circumstances. Let’s have a look at the changes in the rules.

  • The final grid formation of the cars will be decided an hour before the race. A time limit of 75 minutes is set for the drivers to arrive. Cars that do not reach the track within the time limit will be removed, and the rest of the cars will move up in their place.
  • The interview rules for the drivers have also changed. They are not allowed to swear or use any form of profanity (abusive language). Doing so will result in a fine; the second incursion will result in a fine and a suspension. For the third breach of this rule, the driver will be fined and suspended for one month, and his points will be reduced.
  • The allocation of points based on finishing the laps in the fastest time for the top ten drivers has been canceled.
  • The starting grid order will now be based on the rank of the drivers in the Championship. The stewards will decide the grid order if the starting grid order is not set based on the ranking due to uncertain reasons.
  • The car’s minimum weight has been increased to 800 kg because the driver’s minimum weight is set to 82 kg.
  • The car’s weight was further increased by 5 kg due to the installation of the driver cooling kit. It’s for the safety of the driver under overheating circumstances.
