Wojciech Szczesny will be the back-up goalkeeper and will play many games too when needed. Marc-Andre ter Stegen is injured and once he is back, he will hardly feature in any games for FC Barcelona this season.
Defenders
Ronald Araujo, Jules Kounde, Pau Cubarsi, Alejandro Balde, Andreas Christensen, Eric Garcia, and Hector Fort
Everyone thought Hansi Flick’s offside trap would be understood by teams coming on to the second season, but the German mastermind has got new plans. In the pre-season, he showed that his defenders can still trap the opponents in the offside trap. The biggest concern now is that Inigo Martinez will not be in the backline of FC Barcelona. His experience helped Cubasi, and now they are lacking experience.
Ronald Araujo has the moment for himself to get the fans’ trust back, as they have doubts about him. He will have to lead the backline now. Gerrard Martin was made to play in that centre back role, but just one match cannot exactly say whether he is a fit or not in that role as a back-up. One of the concerns will be the backup right back. Eric Garcia is doing well, but they should have gotten Dumfries as they were costing much less. Jofre Torrents will be the backup to Alejandro Balde.
Midfielders

FC Barcelona is surely one of the teams in Europe that has a proper midfield with great backups. Gavi has shown in pre-season that he is fully charged up and ready for the new season, and so has Fermin Lopez. They have Pedri, who runs the game, controls, and dominates the midfield. The pre-season has also given FC Barcelona ballers from La Masia, Dro Fernandes, and Toni Fernandes.
With this, there is Casado who does the hard work, and there is some good news for FC Barcelona as Marc Bernal is back from injury. Dani Olmo’s injuries can be a concern, but Fermin Lopez should start ahead of him.
Forwards
Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Ferran Torres, Marcus Rashford, and Roony Bardghji
Many of them doubted and raised questions about Lamine Yamal after the first pre-season game, but the teenager is back with a response with a performance on the field. Roony Bardghji will be his backup. Raphinha is just good but not perfect in the pre-season. Robert Lewandowski will be the main man in front of the goal.
Marcus Rashford will be the standout player for FC Barcelona in attack this season after Lamine Yamal. The player has nothing to lose, and when you are in this stage of your career, you give your best. He will play without any pressure in the team.
