Copa América Femenina Winners and Runner-ups of all past season

3 Min Read

Brazil are champions for the fourth time in a row now. A total of 8 championships have been won by Brazil in 9 editions of the tournament. This will be the 10th edition. We can call them favourites, but football can’t be predictable at times. Copa América Femenina winners and runners-up will see Brazil featuring a lot, but the runners-up tend to change.

This time, unlike all previous editions, the tournament will not serve as the tournament for South American qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, since a separate qualifying tournament is being organised for that purpose.

Copa América Femenina: Records

In the 3rd edition, Roseli from Brazil scored 16 in just six matches of the tournament. This is the best by any player in a single season. Second to her are Sissi and Cristiane, scoring 12 each. Sissi did it in four games, whereas Cristiane scored in 7 games. When we talk about the assist providers, Leicy Santos and Beatriz Zaneratto gave four assists each in the last edition of the tournament.

About this edition:

Ecuador is the host for this year. A 20-day tournament where 10 teams compete against each other. The dates are 12th July to 2nd August. A lot is at stake for the other teams to prove themselves. The total number of games will be 25. Top 2 from each group qualify for the semi-finals. Teams on 3rd place in each group play a match for 5th place.

Additionally, it may possibly provide two slots for the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics women’s football tournament (this is preliminary data, published only by Conmebol as yet, but not by the IOC) and three more for the 2027 Pan American Games tournament to be played in Lima. Peru has already qualified as the host.
