Since the start of the World Test Championship way back in 2021, it has been a great success. Recently, an annual meeting was held in Singapore for the Board members of the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the hosts of the next three editions. Which country is confirmed as the host for the next three WTC Finals from 2025 to 2031?
In the previous three seasons, we have had three different winners of the World Test Championship. New Zealand in 2021 won the first edition of the World Test Championship whereas Australia won the second in 2023. The most recent winners are South Africa, as they won this edition of the World Test Championship.

Which country is confirmed as the host for the next three WTC Finals from 2025 to 2031?
Lord’s in London was the venue for the finals of the previous three editions of the World Test Championship. In the annual conference of the ICC, which was organised in Singapore, it was declared that England and Wales Cricket Board will host the next three finals of the World Test Championship (2027, 2029, and 2031). This was the official statement by the International Cricket Council (ICC):
The Board also confirmed the awarding of hosting rights for the ICC World Test Championship Finals for the 2027, 2029, and 2031 editions to the England and Wales Cricket Board, following a successful track record in hosting recent finals
England is always a special venue for any ICC event. Eventually, the Lord’s stadium makes it more iconic. Every player, the day they start playing cricket, dreams of representing their country at the home of cricket. What makes it even more special is getting your names in the history books and on the wall of the iconic stadium.
The most important and the cherry on the cake thing is that the match is an ICC event final and that too in a Test format. It is not clear yet what will be the venue for the final. Certainly, Lord’s will most likely be the venue for the next three World Test Championship Finals. Richard Gould, the chief executive, had this to say after getting the rights of the next three WTC finals:
We are absolutely delighted that England and Wales has been chosen to host the next three ICC World Test Championship finals.
It’s a testament to the passion that fans in this country have for this treasured format of the game and the willingness of supporters from around the world to travel here for these games.
Hosting these finals is a privilege, and we look forward to working with the ICC to build on the success of the previous editions
