Sir Richard Hadlee has to be one of the greatest bowlers of all time, whereas the best New Zealand has had in test cricket. He made his debut against Pakistan in 1973 and had a sixteen-year career.
Richard Hadlee had played 86 matches and taken 431 wickets. He is also the highest wicket-taker for New Zealand in test cricket. Hadlee has 36 five-wicket hauls and nine 10-wicket hauls. He has a career best of 9/52 in a single match.
Tim Southee
He made his debut against England in 2008, and on his debut, he took five wickets, which was one of the important spells in the match. Tim Southee no longer plays Test match cricket as he played his last game in December 2024 against England. He has played 110 matches and taken 391 wickets. Tim has taken five wickets a total of fifteen times in his career.
Daniel Vettori
One of the greatest ever spin bowlers, and has also played an important role in New Zealand’s history. He made his debut in 1997 against England, whereas he played his last test match in 2014 against Pakistan.
He has played a total of 112 matches and picked up 361 wickets. Daniel Vettori also has the most maidens for New Zealand in Test Cricket. Daniel has a 10-wicket haul three times in tests. He has a twenty-five-wicket haul.
Trent Boult
His first test was a one to remember as they took a total of nine wickets in that game. Trent Boult made his debut against Australia in 2011. His last test match was against England in 2022, and the venue was Leeds.
He has played a total of 78 matches. In the matches that he played, Boult has taken a total of 317 wickets. Trent Boult has taken a total of ten five-wicket hauls in his career.
Neil Wagner
In his twelve-year career, Neil Wagner has played a total of 64 test matches. He made his test debut in 2012 against the West Indies team. In the 64 matches, he has picked up 260 test wickets and is in fifth place in the most wickets for New Zealand.
He has a career best of 7/39, which came against the West Indies in 2017. Neil Wagner played his last test match against the South Africa team in 2024.
