1. Mohammad Azharuddin
Mohammad Azharuddin was one of the top players in cricket. He showed great consistency in his career. Azharuddin was on his way to make a record of 100 Tests. It is a great achievement for a player. However, his career ended due to the controversy of Match Fixing.
He let his career end at 99 matches in Test. Mohammed Azharuddin’s dream to play 100 Tests remained unfulfilled even after the government declared the ban on his career illegal.
2. Hanif Mohammed
One of the most unbelievable performances by Hanif Mohammed. He was very close to making 500 runs in one innings. However, he got out on 499 so close yet cannot achieve his iconic record. It was in the First-class cricket that the record was unbroken until Brian Lara broke the record.
3. Brian Lara
Brian Lara is one of the finest batsmen of his time. He was so dedicated and consistent in his game that he was compared to the great Sachin Tendulkar. Brian made 11,953 runs in 131 Tests at an average of 52.89. He was very close to making a record of 12,000; however, he didn’t make it.
4. Rahul Dravid
Rahul Dravid is one of India’s finest players. He made over 10,889 runs in 344 matches in his ODI career. Rahul just needs 111 runs more to enter the 11,000 runs club and become the third Indian Cricket player to score. It would have been a great achievement for him.

Virendra Sehwag would have created an iconic world record of a triple century in Tests. He made his first triple century against Pakistan in 2004. Later, he made it again against South Africa. However, He was about to create a great record of his third triple century against Sri Lanka, but got out on 293.
