Pakistan in the Legends 2025 Final: Key Reasons India’s Champions Missed Out on the Title Clash
It was the fourth match of the World Championship of Legends 2025, where both India Champions and Pakistan were going to play, and India called off that game as well. There were questions about what would happen if they again met in the knockouts. The answer was the same. India has backed off from playing against them again in the World Championship of Legends 2025. This means the Pakistan Champions have a place in the final.
The Indian Champions players had already confirmed to the organizers that they would not play the Pakistan Champions. Basically, the reason was about the tensions between the two nations because of an event that happened earlier this year. The Pahalgam attack, which happened in April, took the lives of many innocent people. India has also stopped their business with Pakistan. Before the semi-final match, EaseMyTrip, which is one of the sponsors of the World Championship of Legends 2025, also pulled out. This is what they said:
We applaud Team India @India_Champions for their outstanding performance in the World Championship of Legends, you’ve made the nation proud. However, the upcoming semi-final against Pakistan is not just another game, Terror and cricket cannot go hand in hand
@EaseMyTrip, we stand with India. We cannot support any event that attempts to normalise relations with a country that promotes terrorism. The people of India have spoken and we hear them. EaseMyTrip will not be associated with the India vs Pakistan match in WCL
The Indian Champions Captain Yuvraj Singh, along with players such as Shikhar Dhawan, Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, and Suresh Raina, were very clear about not playing the match. It is rightly done as the country always comes first, and cricket can wait. Different people had different opinions about the Indian players’ decision. It is surely a very correct decision. The World Championship of Legends officially released this on their handle:
At WCL, we have always believed in the power of sport to inspire and bring about positive change in the world. However, public sentiment must always be respected – after all, everything we do is for our audience. We respect the India Champions’ decision to withdraw from the semi-finals, and we equally respect the Pakistan Champions’ readiness to compete. Taking all factors into consideration, the match between the India Champions and the Pakistan Champions has been called off. As a result, Pakistan Champions will advance to the final.
