The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) is the richest cricket board in the world. All the matches of the Indian cricket team, domestic leagues, and everything related to cricket are organised and managed by them. The salary of the Indian Cricket Team players per Match in 2025 differs from format to format.

Basically, the central contract is dated from 1st October to 30th September. The central contracts are divided into four grade categories: Grade A+, Grade A, Grade B, and Grade C. Grade A+ players earn the most, whereas Grade C players earn the least.

After the retirement announcement by Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma from Test cricket, it is Shubman Gill who will lead India in the Test format. India’s Tour of England begins on the 20th June. Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds is the venue for the first test match.

It is very clear that the salary they earned from the central contract is their annual salary. The players also receive match fees per game. There are three formats: Test cricket, One-day internationals, and T20 internationals. Each format has a different match fee. Test cricket pays the most, around  ₹15 lakh, it’s ₹6 lakh for ODIs, and lastly it’s ₹3 lakh for T20s.

BCCI’s New Contract System and Player Grade-Wise Earnings

When the list of players was revealed earlier, two of the biggest names were missing. The players were Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan. After performing, winning trophies, and scoring runs, Shreyas Iyer gets a BCCI contract. Eventually, it is the same; Ishan Kishan too gets a BCCI contract. We all saw that Rishabh Pant was back in the team after a long injury, he was upgraded to Grade A.

Players such as Varun Chakaravarthy, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana, and Abhishek Sharma received their first BCCI contracts. Ravichandran Ashwin (retired), Shardul Thakur, Jitesh Sharma, KS Bharath, and Avesh Khan no longer have a central contract.

The base salary of the categories is Grade A+ (7 crores), which includes players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja. KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, and Rishabh Pant are in Grade A (5 crores). Eventually, the Grade B (3 crores) has a place for players such as Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shreyas Iyer.

Basically, Grade C (1 crore) has the most number of players, and the players are Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, Ravi Bishnoi, Washington Sundar, Mukesh Kumar, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Rajat Patidar, Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Abhishek Sharma, Akash Deep, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Harshit Rana.
