Central Stags could not chase down the target of 166 runs as they just fell short by 22 runs.
In the second game, the defending champions, Rangpur Riders, were playing against the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Rangpur Riders, after batting first, scored 162 runs. Soumya Sarkar Will Break His Own Bangladesh 208* Runs Record in GPL 2025?
One thing is for sure: there is almost nothing impossible in the game of cricket. If you have one good day, you can be the boss and smash any bowler out of the stadium.
Soumya Sarkar scored this knock of 208* in the year 2012 when he was playing the Asia Cup for the Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team. They were playing against the Qatar Under-19 team. After losing the toss and asking to bat first, this was the Soumya Sarkar show. He batted the full 50 overs and scored 208* in 135 balls, which included 27 fours and eight massive sixes.
As the Global Premier League is a T20 form of the tournament, it is very hard for any batter to get a double century, but we can’t rule it out. Last season, Soumya Sarkar was the player of the tournament, and we can’t change this rule, but one thing is for sure: he has to play the test innings of his life if he wants to break this record.
