Donald Bradman (1928 – 1948)
Bradman is regarded as the greatest batsman to ever play cricket. It may look fake, but eventually his batting average in test cricket is 99.94. In the ashes of 1930, he scored a total of 974 runs. Scoring double and triple centuries was a coup for his team.

He retired in 1948. In his innings, he was out for a duck. He was given the Nickname of “The Don”. Bradman was just four runs short of 100’s average.

Allan Border (1978 – 1994)
He made his debut in 1978 and was made the Australian captain in 1984. Allan Border was the first player to reach 11,000 test runs. He was the captain when Australia won the World Cup in 1987.
Border was one of the most reliable number four batters for his team. The India vs Australia series is also named after him and Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar

Shane Warne (1992 – 2007)
The spin magician has shown what he can throughout his career. He is the second most successful taker in test cricket with 708 wickets. Shane Warne played an important role in Australia’s 1999 World Cup win.
He was known for his flamboyant personality and brilliance. He was the captain of the Rajasthan Royals in 2008 and helped them win the IPL.

Steve Waugh (1985 – 2004)
He is one of the toughest Australian captains. Steve Waugh helped Australia win 16 consecutive Tests. He started his career as an all-rounder, but later made a transition and became one of the most reliable middle-order batsmen. He was awarded the Australian Player of the Year in 2004.

Ricky Ponting (1995 – 2012)
Ponting is one of the most successful captains not only in Australian history but also in cricket’s history. He won three ICC World Cups back to back and the two World Cups (2003 and 2007), with his team being unbeaten. Ponting also scored 140* in the final of the 2003 World Cup against India. He scored more than 26000 runs in his career.

Glenn McGrath (1993 – 2007)
One of the deadliest pace bowlers who holds the record for the most wickets in the World Cup. He also has the best figure as a bowler in the World Cup, 7/15, which came against Namibia. Glenn has a total of 561 test wickets and also 381 ODIs wickets. He said goodbye to cricket after the 2007 World Cup.

Adam Gilchrist (1996 – 2008)
Gilchrist is one of the most renowned wicketkeeper-batsmen. He has more than 15,000 runs combined in both Test and ODIs. In 470 ODIs he played, he had a total of 416 dismissals.

He always played fair, even if the umpire didn’t raise his finger, Gilchrist used to walk off when he knew he was out. Adam scored 147* runs in the 2007 World Cup final.

Matthew Hayden (1993 – 2008)
Hayden and his partner Justin Langer had a lot recording breaking partnerships for Australia. With a batting average of 50, Hayden has scored more than 8500 runs in test cricket.
His knock of 380* against Zimbabwe is the second-highest individual score by a player in Test cricket. Hayden caught the fans’ attention more when he used the Mangoos Bat.

Ian Chappell (1964 – 1980)
He was one of the most influential captains of the Australian Cricket team in the 1970s. In the 75 games he played, Ian Chappell scored more than 5000 runs for his team.
Eventually, he was made the captain in 1971, and helped Australia go unbeaten in the Ashes they played against England. Apart from being a great batter and captain, he was a great fielder too.

Greg Chappell (1970 – 1984)
He made his debut for Australia in 1970 against England, and on his debut he scored a century. Greg Chappell has scored more than 7000 runs with a batting average of 53.86 in the 84 matches he played.
He was the captain of the Australian team in two periods, one from 1975 to 1977 and from 1979 to 1984. Greg Chappell also coached the Indian team, which was a big controversy.
