This year, we are all set for the 17th edition of the Asia Cup. The tournament eventually starts on the 12th of September, whereas the final is on the 28th of September. For this edition of the Asia Cup, the United Arab Emirates will host all the matches. The Asia Cup 2025 Schedule has surely got some fiery fixtures for us as India will play Pakistan in the group stages.
India won the last edition of the Asia Cup, and this time India will defend their title. The match saw Mohammed Siraj as he picked up six wickets for just 21 runs, and disassembled the Sri Lankan team. Sri Lanka lost all ten wickets for 50 runs. It was a very easy target for the Indian batters. Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill chased the score in just 37 balls.
India also holds the record for the most Asia Cup titles, which is eight in the history of the competition. They will aim for the ninth title this time, and they have the team to do it. As this is a T20 format tournament, we won’t see Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma playing for India as they have already retired from this format.

Asia Cup 2025 Schedule
Currently, the Schedule and the venues for the Asia Cup 2025 have not been officially announced. We will get the full list of the fixtures of the competition by the end of July or mid-July. One thing is for sure, we will surely see an India-Pakistan game as both teams are in the same group. There can be more India-Pakistan games if both teams qualify for the next round, and also in the final.
Groups of the Asia Cup 2025
There are a total of eight teams playing in the Asia Cup 2025. India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, and Oman are the eight teams. All eight teams are divided into two groups: Group A and Group B. Let us have a look at the groups and the teams one by one:
Group A:
India, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong
Group B:
Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Oman
What is the format of the Asia Cup 2025?
There is a slight change in the format of the Asia Cup for this edition. In the previous edition, we had only six teams participating in the tournament. There are two teams that have increased in this edition of the Asia Cup. Eventually, all the teams will play against each other once in the group stages of the Asia Cup 2025.
The top two teams of both groups qualify for the Super Four. All four teams again play against each other once. The top two teams of the Super Four play in the final of the Asia Cup 2025. Lastly, the winner in the final is the champion of the Asia Cup 2025.
