After a brilliant performance in the previous game, Akash Deep has confirmed his spot in the team. The pitch of the Lord’s will surely favour him a lot. During the first day, the pitch offers a lot of swing, and that’s one of his strengths. Unfortunately, Akash Deep did not get any wickets on the first day as England ended the day on 251/4.

After playing one test match, Akash Deep is India’s top wicket-taker in the series, so far, with 10 wickets. He is just one wicket behind the top wicket-taker of the competition so far, Josh Tongue, who has 11 wickets.

If he manages four wickets or more in this match, and Mohammad Siraj fails to take any wickets, Akash Deep will be the leading wicket-taker for India in tests in 2025.
