The test match Shubman Gill played for India saw a lot of records broken. Both for him personally and his team, as India won the first match at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in their history. Gill got more than 400 runs in the last game and won. The big question is, can Shubman Gill break his own record again in the 3rd Test at Lord’s?
Before the test series, Shubman Gill was named as the test captain of the Indian Cricket Team. It happened because Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from test cricket. The young boy has shown why he was chosen as the captain. He has scored three centuries in the innings since becoming the captain.

Can Shubman Gill break his own record again in the 3rd Test at Lord’s?
The previous test match was the one to remember not only for the Indian captain but also every Indian fan. In the first innings of the test match, Gill scored 269 runs. He became the player to score the highest individual score as an Indian captain in England. Just one run separated him from breaking Don Bradman’s score of 270.
Shubman Gill’s domination with the bat continued in the second innings as well, and Gill scored 161 runs, becoming the second Indian to score two hundreds in the same test in England. He scored a total of 430 runs throughout both innings and just fell 26 runs short of breaking Graham Gooch’s record for scoring the highest combined score in a test match. It won’t matter to him that much, as his team won the Test Match convincingly by 336 runs. This was India’s first win at the venue since they played here.
To have your name in the record books, and especially at the home of cricket, Lord’s, is special for every cricket player. One thing is pretty clear: the pressure doesn’t bother the Indian captain, Shubman Gill. India has won the last two test matches at Lord’s out of the three.
Gill won’t be eyeing any personal milestone, but the Indian captain can surely help his team win and put another record to his name. This is going to be his first test match at the home of cricket, Lord’s, and it will be more special because he is leading his side.
