Akash Deep’s Family: The Support System Behind India’s Rising Pacer
Akash Deep’s journey to pursue cricket is a reflection of his passion and how hard he has worked. His father, Ramji Singh, was a school teacher and opposed Akash following cricket rather than doing a government job. Akash’s mother, Ladduma Devi, was a housemaker and Akash’s biggest support.
Akash has five siblings, with three elder sisters and two elder brothers. Unfortunately, in 2015, Akas’s father passed away, and just a few months later, he lost his elder brother too. It was a life-changing event in Akas’s life. Akash wanted to move to Bengal, and his mother believed in him and pushed him towards his dream.
His sisters always supported him and helped their mother when Akash was chasing his dreams. Akash once sold sand and played domestic matches to provide for his family. His eldest sister, Akhand Jyoti, is very dear to him. She has stood by him in some of the toughest times.
As of now, she is battling stage 3 cancer, but that does not stop her from cheering for her brother. Recently, Akash took a 10-wicket haul and dedicated the win to his sister. His sister told him not to worry about her and to play for the country. This reflects their belief in Akash and the strong bond he shares with his family.

While supporting his family, with the help of his mother and cousin, he moved to Bengal to follow his dream. He worked very hard, sharpened his skills, and finally started to make a name for himself slowly in domestic cricket. He played for a while in Bengal and caught attention with his performance.
Finally, in 2021, Akash got picked by RCB in the IPL. The IPL helped him a lot in making his name and getting noticed by the selectors. His biggest breakthrough came in 2024 when he was picked for the TESTs. He performed very well and continued to be part of the team in 2025, impressing everyone with his talent.
