ICC Hall of Fame 2025: Top Cricketers on This Year’s List

Basically, the International Cricket Council (ICC), every year, announces some of the retired players to be added to the Hall of Fame. This is done for the contribution the player has given to make his mark on the game. There are a total of seven players in the ICC Hall of Fame 2025 Cricketers List.

The players that the ICC announces include players from both women’s and men’s teams. Each year has surely had some players as a fixed number, which can change each year. This is what the ICC President, Jay Shah, had to say

This year, we are privileged to induct seven truly outstanding individuals into this prestigious group. On behalf of the ICC, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to each of them and hope they cherish this well-deserved recognition as a defining moment in their cricketing journey.

ICC Hall of Fame 2025 Cricketers list

There are a total of seven players in the 2025 ICC Hall of Fame. Five players from men’s cricket and two players from women’s cricket.

Sarah Taylor (2006 – 2019)

She made her debut when she was 17 years old against India in 2006. Sarah Taylor was one of the most important players in England’s World Cup-winning team. She has won a total of two World Cups, one in 2009 and the other in 2017.

Sarah has the most dismissals as a wicketkeeper in the history of women’s cricket so far. She has won ICC Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year twice.

MS Dhoni (2004 – 2019)

This man needs no introduction because what he has done, everyone knows. The small boy from Ranchi had a dream of playing for his country and ended up being one of the best in the game.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is known for his famous “helicopter shot.” He is surely one of the best finishers in the game. Playing at number six mostly, he has more than 10,000 ODI runs, which is just phenomenal.

Daniel Vettori (1997 – 2015)

He is the youngest New Zealand player to make a debut in test cricket at the age of 18. Daniel Vettori has a total of more than 700 wickets in his career, including 300+ wickets in test matches.

Apart from his skills with the ball, Daniel Vettori has also scored four centuries in test cricket. He has played in five World Cups for New Zealand and also captained them from 2007 to 2011.

Matthew Hayden (1993 – 2008)

He made his debut in the year 1994 against South Africa. Hayden has the second-highest individual score in test cricket, as he scored 380 against Zimbabwe.

He was part of the Australian team when they did the three-peat of the World Cups (1999, 2003, and 2007). He has scored more than 8,500 runs in test cricket with an average of 50.

Graeme Smith (2002 – 2014)

The former South African captain was one of the most consistent opening batters for them across all three formats. He was the youngest captain of South Africa at the age of 22.

Smith has played a total of 117 test matches and captained 109 of them, which is a record in itself. He helped South Africa to be in the number one team in tests in 2012.

Hashim Amla (2004 – 2019)

Another South African batter has been named to the ICC Hall of Fame this year, and Hashim Amla surely deserves it. He was the first South African player to score a triple century. In his career, he has scored over 18,000 runs and was one of the reliable batters for South Africa.

Sana Mir (2005 – 2019)

She made her debut for the Pakistan women’s team in 2005 against SriLanka. Sana Mir holds the record for captainning the team the most number of times, 137 games.

She also holds the record for the most wickets by a Pakistani in ODIs, 100 wickets. Sana was ranked as the number one bowler in 2018. She helped Pakistan win two goals in the Asian Games (2010 and 2014).
